Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01 : Windhoek
Upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport, collect your rental vehicle and proceed to the City. Villa Verdi is a combination of European elegance and African decor in comfortable settings.

Day 02 : Otjiwarongo Area : Breakfast
Near Otjiwarongo one finds Frans Indongo Lodge.   Various game species abound from Black Wildebeest, the rare White Blesbok, Black Springbok, Nyala, Red Lechwe and Roan Antelope and white rhinos.  Accommodation is in en-suite rooms.  Optional activities:  game drives, walking trails, visits to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) and REST (to see Cape Griffon Vultures).

Day 03 : Rundu Area : Breakfast

A long day awaits as you travel north to Rundu situated on the banks on the Kavango River, en-route the number of villages and cultural settlements increase, home to the well-known Kavango Woodcarvers whose wooden carvings - made through an ancient craft handed down over generations – are sold all over Namibia.  N’kwazi Lodge, is situated on the banks of the river with accommodation in chalets under thatch with en suite shower/WC.  Optional Activities:  performances by traditional dancers, boating, fishing, walking trails and horseback riding.

Day 04 & 05 : Caprivi Area : Breakfast, Dinner

Continue east along the Caprivi, travelling deeper into this fascinating land strip of Namibia.  Due to its proximity, being bordered by Angola, Botswana and Zambia, the Caprivians are also known for their unique arts and crafts, having being influenced by a myriad of other cultures.  Nearby Mudumu National Park is home to small populations of red lechwe, and Sitatunga, whilst crocodile and hippo inhabit the waterways of the Kwando river. Namushasha Lodge, situated on the banks of the Kwando River with accommodation in en-suite reed-and-thatch chalets.  Optional activities:  game drives, walking trails, boat and fishing trips.

Day 06 & 07 : Divundu Area : Breakfast & Dinner

The nearby Popa Falls and Mahango National Park this is an area of fertile wilderness, of rivers and swamps – except for game viewing is also an angling and birding paradise.  Namibia’s hidden wildlife paradise in the Caprivi where time stands still.   Suclabo Okavango Lodge is nestled amongst majestic trees on the banks of the Okavango River with accommodation in comfortable chalets, en-suite.  Optional activities:  boat cruises and game-viewing trips to the Mahango Game Reserve.

Day 08 : Grootfontein Area : Breakfast

In the surrounding area of Grootfontein one finds the Hoba Meteorite, the tree park and the Ghaub Caves, with some remarkable stalactites and Busman paintings.  Ghaub Guest Farm provides the unique opportunity of relaxing on a working farm, in en-suite room.

Day 09 : Etosha National Park : Breakfast
Day 10 : Etosha National Park : Room only

Arrive at the world famous Etosha National Park. Three rest camps are situated within the park, with Namutoni at the eastern gate, Halali in the middle and Okaukuejo at the south-western gate. As the rainfall tends to increase towards the eastern side of the park, vegetation also changes from the lush, dense bushland of the east, towards the more open and dry plains of the west.   All rest camps have a restaurant, swimming pool, en suite bungalows and floodlit waterholes.

Day 11 : Oshakati Area

Ondangwa and Oshakati, both towns are atypically African, with a easy going informal and frenzied urban centre. Anything goes from donkeycarts to 4x4 luxury vehicles, shops in-between residential areas and vice versa.  Visit the Nakambale Musuem, Uukwaluudhi Traditional Homestead at Tsandi, the colourful cuca shops and the Olukonda Mission with its museum, traditional homesteads, busy markets and handicraft workshops.   Cresta Pandu hotel in Ondangwa the lodge offers air-conditioned en suite rooms.

Day 12 : Ruacana : Breakfast

Ruacana on the Kunene River is known for its Hydroelectric Scheme at Ruacana Waterfall.  Optional activities:  excursions to the Hydroelectric Station, walks around the falls, visits to traditional Himba villages, scenic sundowner and walking trails.

Day 13 : Northern Kaokoland : Breakfast & Dinner
Day 14 : Northern Kaokoland : Full Board

The picturesque surroundings of Epupa, one of the most beautiful spots Namibia.  The main  attraction being the Epupa falls, which has a series of cascades, small rivers and rock pools which can be explored. The proud semi-nomadic Himba with their tall, slender and eccentric characters form an integral part of this region.  Epupa Camp situated on the banks of the Kunene consists of luxury safari-style tents, en-suite.  Activities include:  walks, sundowner excursion, visit to the Himba.(Excluding Rafting)

Epupa Camp:  approximate travelling time:  6hrs

Day 15 : Opuwo : Breakfast

Return to Opuwo where time can be spent exploring this little bustling centre.  Guides can be hired from the local information offices.  Ohakane Lodge offers accommodation in en-suite and air-conditioned rooms.

Oshakati Country Lodge:  approximate travelling time:  4hrs

Day 16  & 17 : Northern Damaraland : Breakfast & Dinner

Travelling along the western border of Etosha National Park we reach Hobatere Lodge, situated in a concession area which is home to a wide selection of game. Accommodation is in en-suite bungalows.   Optional activities:  day and night game drives, guided walks and a hide overlooking a waterhole.

Day 18 : Damaraland Area : Breakfast & Dinner

Be on the look out for the famous desert elephant!  Visit The Petrified Forest, Twyfelfontein, Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain.  Accommodation is at Doro !Nawas, in natural walled en-suite units with a private courtyard and staircase leading to the sky roof for stargazing or sleep outs.  Optional activities:  nature drives, guided excursions to Twyfelfontein.

Dora !Nawas Lodge:  approximate travelling time:  3hrs

Day 19 & 20 : Swakopmund : Breakfast

The relaxed atmosphere of Swakopmund and cooler climate is a welcome respite from the intense heat of the inland, and offers a variety of activities in and around Swakopmund.  Please see our Swakopmund section.  Beach Lodge is situated on the beach and offers accommodation in standard en-suite rooms.

Day 21 & 22 : Sesriem Area : Breakfast & Dinner

Travel to Moon landscape and the Welwitschia Plains, via the Kuiseb and Ghaub Canyons to Sesriem, and Sossusvlei Lodge.  The region is famous for the impressive dunes in the surrounds and the well photographed Sossusvlei,  Dead Vlei and Sesriem where eons of erosion have cut out a narrow gorge.  This unique resort offers accommodation in en-suite canvas-covered bungalows reminiscent of Bedouin tents.   Optional activities:  guided excursions to Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon, sundowner nature drives, walking trails, hot-air ballooning and scenic flights.

Sossusvlei Lodge:  approximate travelling time:  5hrs

Day 23 : Windhoek : Breakfast

Return to Windhoek.

Day 24 : Departure : Breakfast

Departure from Namibia.
