Situated on the private Kulala Nature Reserve next to the Namib-Naukluft Park, Kulala Desert Lodge provides magnificent views of Sossusvlei's famous red dunes. Its 12 thatched and canvas en-suite chalets with bathrooms are built on wooden platforms and have private star-gazing platforms on top where outdoor enthusiasts can spend the night.
Kulala Desert Lodge has a lounge, bar dining area and small pool. A veranda overlooks the waterhole allowing views of wildlife and the wide open spaces of the Namib Desert. Although Kulala lodge is not the cheapest lodge in the area, its unique position makes it an essential on any Namibian itinerary.
About 15 km from Kulala Desert Lodge is Kulala Tented Camp with six "Meru" styled tents with en-suite bathrooms, natural stone en-suite facilities and private sky roofs. Relax at the main dining area for sundowners or refresh on the sundeck and/or sparkling pool.
Little Kulala on this camp is ideal for groups with their own guide and vehicle, or guests on a self-drive safari.
There is a fully stocked bar and traditional three-course meals are served at dinner. At night lanterns light the main area.
